Stephen LeoneDr. Stephen Joseph Leone is an educator with over 40 years of professional experience. Since 1993, he has been teaching at Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York, and since 2001, he has worked as a program administrator for Westchester Community College. Throughout his career, Dr. Leone has also taught at Manhattanville College, Farmingdale High School, the Sewanhaka Central High School District and Bishop Egan High School.

Dr. Leone began on his career path when he was younger, having taught classes for the Boy Scouts of America and at his local YMCA. He began his education at LaSalle University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and Education in 1975, and then in 1982, he completed a Master’s in English at Villanova University. In 2006, more than 30 years after his career began, he returned to school and attained a Doctor of Arts in English from St. John’s University. 

Dr. Leone has always been very active outside of teaching. Since 2001, he has served as the English curriculum coordinator for the Verizon Next Step Program. He has also held such positions as chairman of the Nyack YMCA board of managers, and president of the Mazeppa Engine Co. #2 in Nyack, New York. Dr. Leone also maintains memberships in professional organizations such as the Modern Language Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, and the Conference on College Composition.
